Seboyeta means onion in English, but to me it means family, culture, outdoor life and having fun! The mountain pictured above is called El Cerro de la Celosa which means the jealous mountain. The name comes from a Navajo woman who jumped off and died because of jealousy of her husband who was with another woman. If you look closely you can see the body of a woman from her head down to her waist. It is a very small town but we are very family oriented and still live stongly by the old cultures and traditions. One tradition that still occurs today is the Matanza which is the butchering of a pig. My ancestors would do this to gather the famiy and for the use of the meat from the pig. My favorite part of this is the chicharrones, which are a type of pork skin.
